A recent PwC Pulse survey found that 9% of multinational CEO’s who have a base in Ireland plan to increase investment in 2015. A further 92% believe that their decision to invest in Ireland has been a success.
Ireland is now the number one destination for US foreign direct investment overseas. The survey found that by far the most attractive feature in regards increasing investment in the Irish economy is the ease of access to a highly skilled workforce, according to 69% of respondents.
The second most attractive factor is Ireland’s corporate tax rate of 12.5%. Ireland’s ease of doing business relative to other countries is also cited as a very important consideration in these satisfaction ratings.
The influential IMD Competitive Year book now ranks Ireland number 1 globally in terms of productivity and efficiency.
Almost one tenth of the Irish workforce are employed by multinational companies and with the news that 92% are very happy with their investment decision in Ireland and a further 49% set to increase investment and employees in 2015, this is very good news for those employed by multinational companies and job hunters alike.
