Job Title: Branch Manager

Location: Galway City

Working Model: On-site (five days per week)

Abrivia are currently recruiting for a Branch Manager to join our client on a fixed-term contract. This role will oversee a small but busy branch operation, managing a team of experienced and junior insurance representatives while ensuring high standards of customer service and operational performance.

The successful candidate will step into a key leadership position during a maternity leave period, taking responsibility for day-to-day branch management, staff support, and local customer engagement. This is a hands-on managerial role suited to someone with strong people leadership skills, APA Personal & Commercial qualifications, and experience working in a customer-focused office environment.

Your Role

  • Lead and manage the branch team, including two senior and two junior insurance representatives.
  • Oversee the delivery of branch performance targets, customer service standards, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage branch procedures, including opening/closing responsibilities as a key-holder.
  • Coach and support team members to enhance skills, performance, and service levels.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and day-to-day administrative processes.
  • Engage with local businesses and community contacts to maintain branch visibility.
  • Manage expense processes, mileage claims and general branch oversight, reporting to the Regional Manager.
  • Contribute to branch activity planning and local market presence as needed.

Your Skills

  • APA-qualified in Personal and Commercial insurance (or equivalent MCC requirement).
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar supervisory or management role (insurance not essential).
  • Strong people-management capability with a track record of supporting team performance.
  • Full, clean driving licence required.
  • Confident handling operational responsibilities including process implementation and branch administration.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive leader comfortable representing the branch at local events or community engagements.
