Job Title: Senior P&C Underwriter
Location: Dublin
Working Model: Office-based / broker-facing (4 days per week)
Abrivia are currently recruiting for a Senior P&C Underwriter to join a well-established underwriting team focused on mid-market commercial clients. While classed as mid-market, the accounts are significant in scale, with turnovers ranging up to €1bn.
This role is firmly focused on new business development and trading, with a strong expectation of broker engagement and market visibility.
Your Role
- Underwrite, quote and convert new P&C package business within the mid-market segment
- Actively trade with brokers to develop and maintain a strong new business pipeline
- Negotiate terms and close opportunities in line with underwriting authority and business targets
- Work closely with sales, distribution and cross-line teams to deliver a consistent underwriting proposition
- Provide a high level of service and responsiveness to broker partners
- Maintain accurate underwriting records and adhere to underwriting standards and governance requirements
- Represent the business externally and build long-term broker relationships
Your Skills
- Experience underwriting Property & Casualty business within a commercial or mid-market environment
- Strong broker-facing and negotiation skills with a proven new business mindset
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, trading-led underwriting environment
- Results driven with the ability to work on your own initiative
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
