Head of Business Development wanted for Leading Insurance Group-Dublin City
Abrivia are currently recruiting for a Head of Business Development to join a client, a leading Insurer, based in Dublin City. This role reports into the Director and will be responsible for leading and developing the strategy for growth and expansion of premiums within the company’s key sectors.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background within General Insurance in Ireland either from a Broker or Insurer/MGA. You will have the opportunity to join one of the leading insurers in the country who write multiple lines of business.
Your Role:
- Crafting and implementing a robust sales and distribution strategy aimed at driving profitable growth and expanding our premium base, including:
- Gaining comprehensive insight into our offerings to pinpoint lucrative business prospects, novel coverages, market trends, and new sectors that complement our risk appetite.
- Identifying and pursuing opportunities, following up on leads, and scheduling meetings with potential clients and intermediaries.
- Fostering the development and expansion of intermediary partnerships, establishing individual plans and objectives, and fostering strong relationships to ensure a high-quality pipeline of new business prospects.
- Taking ownership of and nurturing new business distribution channels, with a focus on establishing sustainable, long-term profitable collaborations.
- Staying abreast of emerging trends, advocating for new company offerings to meet evolving customer needs, with a particular emphasis on sustainable insurance solutions.
- Spearheading the management and leadership of tender opportunities, collaborating effectively with colleagues to secure successful outcomes.
- Setting a standard of service excellence through personal example and collaboration with stakeholders.
- Overseeing relevant policies, governance structures, and intermediary relationships, including remuneration arrangements.
- Working closely with internal departments such as underwriting, pricing, marketing, operations, and claims to establish and execute aligned and coordinated plans.
Your Skills:
- Demonstrated success in surpassing business development targets, highlighting a results-driven mindset.
- Comprehensive grasp of the Irish insurance and broker market, encompassing insights into industry trends, competitor landscapes, and regulatory frameworks.
- Skill in harnessing market intelligence to guide decision-making and anticipate forthcoming opportunities and obstacles.
- Extensive background in senior business development positions within the Insurance Market.
- Possession of an Insurance Qualification such as CIP/MDI or equivalent.
- Strong analytical capabilities, adept problem-solving skills, and sound decision-making abilities, coupled with proficient reporting expertise.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation proficiencies.
- Established business acumen, evidenced by past achievements and strategic insights.
