Rejection is a natural part of life. If you are going to be successful, you are going to need to learn how to deal with it.
You get rejected when you are not picked for a team, do not get elected, do not get that job or promotion or the raise you wanted, don’t get a date with the guy/girl you really like, your proposal or suggestion is turned down. The list goes on and on.
According to Jack Canfield (author of ‘The Success Principles’), rejection is a myth. It is simply a conception we hold in our heads. If you apply for a job and you do not get it, you did not have it before you applied and you do not have it after you applied. Your life did not get worse and it stayed the same. Whenever you ask for anything, remember that some people will say yes and others are going to say NO!
So, what does this mean?
It just means that there is someone somewhere who is waiting for you and your ideas. It is simply a numbers game, you must keep asking until you get a yes! “What you want wants you”. You have to hang in there long enough to eventually get a yes.
To get what you want you are going to need to ask, ask, ask and say next, next, next until you get the yes(es) you are looking for! Asking is and always will be a numbers game. Don’t take it personally because it is not personal.
Anyone who has ever made it to the top has had to endure rejections along their journey. Look at ways to learn from the rejections and utilise these experiences in the next situation.
