Accounts Assistant – Financial Services

Abrivia Recruitment is recruiting an Accounts Assistant to join the finance team of an established financial services organisation based in South Dublin.
This position will focus primarily on accounts receivable and credit control, including managing customer payments, monitoring outstanding balances and resolving account queries. You’ll also gain exposure to reconciliations, month-end activities and the wider finance function.
This is a great opportunity for someone with 1-2 years’ experience in accounts or finance who is looking to build on their existing skills in a busy and supportive team environment.
Your Role
- Monitor incoming payments and ensure customer accounts are accurately maintained.
- Review outstanding balances and follow up with customers to support timely collection of payments.
- Investigate payment discrepancies and resolve account-related queries.
- Assist with invoicing, payment allocation and account reconciliations.
- Work closely with internal teams to address billing issues and outstanding payments.
- Support month-end activities, including debtor reporting and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Maintain customer account information and ensure financial data is kept up to date.
- Contribute to improvements in finance processes and systems.
Your Skills
- 1-2 years’ experience in an accounts, finance assistant or similar role.
- Previous exposure to accounts receivable, credit control, invoicing or reconciliations.
- Intermediate Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems.
- Strong attention to detail and good numerical skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a busy environment.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
