API Sales Team Lead – AI Platform

This is an opportunity to join a global technology organisation supporting a strategic AI client in accelerating enterprise adoption of advanced AI platform APIs. Operating within a high-growth, innovation-led environment, this role blends sales leadership, operational discipline and consultative, value-based selling across complex enterprise landscapes.
As API Sales Team Lead, you will drive revenue growth while leading a team of API sellers across SMB, Enterprise Qualification and Renewals segments. You will be responsible for structured execution, disciplined pipeline governance and consistent quota attainment, while embedding a high-performance, KPI-driven culture. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will also act as executive sponsor on strategic opportunities.
The Role
- Lead, coach and performance-manage a team of API sellers across multiple segments
- Own team quota, pipeline coverage, forecast accuracy and productivity metrics
- Set and enforce clear daily, weekly and monthly activity expectations, including outreach volumes and SLA adherence
- Run structured inspection cadence including pipeline reviews, call coaching and QA scorecard reviews
- Drive disciplined opportunity qualification using structured methodologies such as MEDDICC or BANT
- Ensure strong CRM hygiene, accurate forecasting and clean pipeline management
- Act as executive sponsor on complex enterprise API opportunities
- Guide commercial structuring, pricing strategy and negotiation processes
- Partner with Solutions Engineering teams to align AI capabilities with measurable business outcomes
- Maintain high standards of compliance, documentation quality and governance across all customer interactions
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 4+ years’ B2B technology sales experience, with at least 2 years in a people leadership role
- Proven track record of consistent quota attainment within SaaS or technology sales
- Strong experience managing Salesforce or similar CRM platforms
- Familiarity with sequencing and engagement tools in high-velocity sales environments
- Solid understanding of APIs, platform architectures and developer ecosystems
- Working knowledge of AI and enterprise AI use cases
- Ability to engage both technical stakeholders and senior executive decision-makers
- Data-driven, KPI-focused leadership style with strong operational discipline
- Fluent English at C1 level or above
