Job Title: Commercial Underwriter (P&C)
Location: Dublin
Working Model: Office-based / broker-facing (4 days per week)
Abrivia are currently recruiting for a Commercial Underwriter (P&C) to join our client’s growing underwriting team in Dublin. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an underwriter looking to step up and broaden their experience, with exposure across both Property and Casualty lines.
The position is focused on commercial P&C package business and is suited to someone who enjoys broker interaction, new business trading and developing their technical capability across a wider portfolio.
Your Role
- Underwrite, quote and convert new commercial P&C package business in line with underwriting authority
- Trade proactively with brokers to develop and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities
- Negotiate terms and pricing while maintaining underwriting discipline
- Build strong broker relationships through regular face-to-face engagement
- Work closely with underwriting management, sales, distribution and cross-line colleagues
- Maintain accurate underwriting records and compliance with internal standards
- Represent the business positively in the market
Your Skills
- Experience underwriting either Property or Casualty / Liability business in a commercial environment
- Strong interest in developing broader P&C technical capability
- A proactive and commercially minded approach to underwriting
- Confidence engaging with brokers and trading new business
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
