Abrivia are currently recruiting for an experienced P&C Underwriter to join our client within a senior underwriting capacity, focusing on mid-market commercial business.
This is a broker-facing role with a strong emphasis on new business development, trading and relationship management across the Irish market.
Your Role
- Underwrite, quote and convert new P&C package business within the mid-market segment
- Take ownership of broker relationships, developing and maintaining a strong pipeline
- Negotiate terms and close business in line with underwriting authority and targets
- Act as a key point of contact for brokers, providing a high level of service and responsiveness
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver a consistent underwriting approach
- Maintain underwriting discipline, ensuring compliance with guidelines and governance
- Represent the business in the market and support continued growth
Your Skills
- Strong experience underwriting Property or Casualty/Liability business
- Proven track record in a broker-facing, new business underwriting role
- Strong trading and negotiation skills
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Commercial mindset with a focus on delivery and results
