Job Title: CNC Laser & Waterjet Cutting Operator
Job Location: Dublin
Salary: DOE + Quarterly Bonus + Benefits
Working Model: Fully onsite, 39-hour week, with an early finish on Fridays
The short version
An established Irish engineering manufacturer is growing its sheet metal and fabrication workshop and needs an experienced operator for its fibre laser and waterjet cutting machines. If you enjoy turning drawings into clean, accurate parts, and you like a role where you have ownership of your machine, this one is worth a look.
What you’d be doing
You’ll set up and run CNC fibre laser and waterjet machines, working from engineering drawings, CAD files and cutting schedules. That means setting zero points, offsets and cutting parameters, choosing the right materials and consumables, and handling sheet and plate safely with lifting equipment. You’ll watch each cut as it runs and make adjustments to get the best result.
Quality is a big part of the job. You’ll check first-off parts, inspect as you go against tolerances and customer specs, and nest jobs efficiently to keep waste down. Finished parts are deburred, cleaned, sorted and labelled, and you’ll keep production, inspection and machine records accurate.
You’ll also look after your machines with regular cleaning and basic upkeep, flag faults quickly, and speak up about any material or dimensional issues, asking for help when you need it. You’ll work closely with the fabrication, welding, engineering and quality teams, report to workshop management, and be expected to help meet production targets, including occasional overtime.
