Job Title: Head of Claims

Hybrid: 2 days a week in Office
Head of Claims wanted for Global Insurer based in Dublin City
Abrivia are currently recruiting for 2 x Head of Claims positions based in Dublin City Centre. Our client is a Global Insurer, and they are looking at adding two experienced Head of Claims to their senior claims team. These roles will report into the Claims Director and will be responsible for Personal Injury and Motor Damage.
Your Role:
- Lead and inspire high-performing teams through feedback, coaching, and effective communication.
- Develop and implement PI strategies for cost control and competitive advantage, crafting opponent-specific approaches for optimal settlement methods.
- Stay vigilant to external changes in the claim’s environment, assessing their impact on costs and adjusting settlement plans accordingly.
- Foster a culture of responsibility, empowering team members and seeking opportunities for continuous learning and sustainable business performance.
- Collaborate with claims sites to share best practices and insights.
- Establish key controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including Solvency II and Group Standards, in Personal Injury and Motor Damage Claims.
- Manage customer experience to enhance and consistently deliver excellence in our journey.
- Identify and manage risks within the claims area, developing and executing strategies for effective cost control and commercial advantage, including opponent-specific approaches for optimal settlement.
Your Skills:
- Over 10 years of leadership experience managing either motor damage or injury functions, with a proven technical claims background and knowledge of relevant regulatory environments.
- In-depth understanding of external market factors impacting personal injury claims.
- Demonstrated expertise in optimising performance, meeting deadlines, and achieving results in a similar environment.
- Strong leadership skills, coupled with a pragmatic, common-sense attitude, and a positive approach to coaching and mentoring teams.
- Essential CIP qualification, with MDI/ACII/FCII considered beneficial.
- Customer-centric focus, leveraging customer data and insights to meet their needs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships and influencing at all organisational levels, particularly in developing senior reciprocal relationships.
- Adept project manager with excellent planning and organisational skills, capable of prioritising workload to meet objectives and deadlines.
- Skilled negotiator, highly pragmatic, and hands-on in delivering effective solutions.
- Strong analytical ability, presenting data in a user-friendly manner.
