1.If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
I am extremely lucky to say right where I am living currently, we recently bought our dream home and I promised myself I would never move again. If you asked me this question a few years ago I would have said Boston. When I have been there it feels like home, I like the states and I have a great love for shopping.
2. What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?
Funny or embarrassing I am not sure, I was in a playground recently with my friends and kids. One of their kids begged me to go on the big slide so I did. However, we both got stuck, it ended up that they had to break the slide to help us. Let’s just say I won’t be getting on a slide again anytime soon.
3.Imagine you step outside the office and find a lottery ticket that end up winning €10 million. What would you do?
Very hard decision I would like to believe that I would try and find the person and hope they would give me some of their winnings. If I won, the lotto from my own ticket now I know exactly how I would spend it. Firstly, I would probably blow some of it because that would be only natural. I love Christmas so I would love to bring all family and friends to Lapland. Then I would have to be a little bit sensible and clear all my own and families’ financial debts (mortgages etc). The Ronald McDonald house holds a special place with me so I would donate a lot of funding to help expand the house. Investment wise I would build my brother his dream gym, and my dad his dream pizza cafe. Personal enjoyment the list is everlasting mostly travel, shoes, cars sure one can dream a little. I would like to believe that I would still work and volunteer.
4.If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be and why?
I would choose to be an oak tree because it has the qualities of strength, resilience, wisdom, and the capacity to make a lasting difference, which are values I try to have in my personal and professional life.
5.What’s the most embarrassing moment you had in recruitment?
I brought a candidate out for a celebratory lunch one time after they got a job offer. I let them pick where we were going, and they picked a Chinese restaurant. When the meal arrived, they did not have forks just chopsticks, so the candidate was trying to teach me how to use them properly. Anyway, as they were showing me, I hit the candidate accidently in the eye with the chopstick. Our lunch ended up in a Healthcare Clinic. Going back to the office was not fun. However, I still have a very good relationship with this candidate.
6.You’ve been given an elephant. You can’t give it away or sell it. What would you do with the elephant?
I would keep it as a pet and build a natural habitat. I could open an animal sanctuary. I recently visited Wild Ireland in Donegal and I was a big fan, and I would definitely recommend a visit.
7.What is your favourite book you have read?
Hard choice but I think “The Magic of Thinking Big” by David J Schwartz. It has changed the way I think and sometimes I find a quote and it motivates me instantly. Also, I bought the book during Covid 19, and it was a time I could think and needed some extra motivation. One of my favourite quotes is “Do what you fear, and the fear disappears”.
8.What are some pet peeves you have?
Some peeves are: People who are always late (now since I had a baby my time keeping has slightly changed but people who are always late I don’t get it. Another one would be people skipping a queue, I think it is because I am a fair person and someone asks no problem, but to just skip would be a big pet peeve.
9.What is your favourite genre of music?
I just checked my Spotify, and to be honest I would find it really hard to have a favourite. I am totally mixed from pop, dance and rap. At the minute my Spotify is Disney’s greatest hits.
10.Are you a dog or cat person?
Definitely a dog person, to be honest cats’ kind of scare me. I had an amazing English Bulldog “Rufus” and he sadly passed away in April. I have had dogs around all of my life, and I will get another one soon.
