Aftersales Supplier Manager (Technical / Automotive)

Job Details

Description:

Job Title: Aftersales Supplier Manager (Technical / Automotive)

Location: Dublin, with regular travel to supplier sites nationwide

Salary: DOE+ 10% bonus + benefits+ company car, phone & laptop

Reporting to: Operations Director

About the Role

Our client, a leading vehicle leasing and mobility provider, is hiring for a Aftersales Supplier Manager within its Operations team. This is a hands-on, relationship-led role at the centre of how the business works with its network of garages, service centres, manufacturers and parts providers.

You will own the performance, cost and quality of a national supplier network of more than 750 partners. Some are used daily in the major urban centres, others only a couple of times a year in more remote parts of the country. Your job is to make sure every customer who brings a vehicle in for servicing, repair or warranty work gets a first-class experience, at a fair and competitive price.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse supplier spend and performance data to identify savings, trends and risks
  • Negotiate labour rates, parts pricing and service terms with garages, dealerships and other suppliers, and hold the line where rates are out of step with the market
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships across the supplier network
  • Carry out regular supplier reviews and site visits (approximately 40 to 60 per year, or around 5 a month), with some reviews conducted by phone for smaller or more remote suppliers
  • Run mystery shops to check service standards and the customer experience
  • Oversee warranty and repair arrangements, ensuring vehicles are returned to the right garage and issues are resolved quickly
  • Work with suppliers across servicing, roadside assistance, rental, parts and manufacturer or franchise partners
  • Work closely with the wider Operations, Purchasing and Driver Services teams
  • Act as the technical point of contact on supplier and vehicle issues

About You

  • A technical automotive background is essential. A former mechanic or technician who has moved into a parts, warranty, service or supplier management role would be ideal
  • Experience in a garage, dealership, fleet, leasing or similar automotive environment
  • Commercial and numerate, comfortable analysing spend and negotiating on price
  • Confident, credible communicator who can build rapport with suppliers and challenge them when needed
  • Organised and self-directed, able to manage a large supplier base and a varied diary
  • Happy to be out on the road one to two days in a typical week, with some weeks busier than others
  • Full clean driving licence

What’s On Offer

  • Excellent Salary plus 10% bonus
  • Benefits package
  • A standalone, high-visibility role with direct access to the Operations Director
  • Real scope to shape supplier strategy and influence cost and service outcomes
