IT Procurement and Vendor Manager
Location: Dublin 12, County Dublin
Type: Full-time | 6 – 12 Month Contract
Abrivia Recruitment is partnering with an organisation in the insurance sector to recruit an IT Procurement and Vendor Manager on a 6-12 month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement and vendor management professional with financial services experience to join a well-established organisation on a hybrid basis.
The successful candidate will report to the Enterprise Resilience and IT Vendor Manager and will take ownership of IT procurement and vendor management activity. The role has arisen due to an employee leave of absence and will involve leading procurement processes, managing supplier relationships, maintaining contract registers, and supporting compliance with internal policies and regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead IT procurement activity, including procurement planning, tender processes, supplier selection, and contract support.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing IT suppliers.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual supplier review meetings, monitoring performance and addressing areas of concern.
- Maintain IT procurement contract trackers, savings trackers, and vendor-related management information.
- Support the efficient operation of the purchase-to-pay process for IT procurement.
- Work closely with IT and business stakeholders to ensure procurement policies and governance requirements are followed.
- Review critical supplier resilience in line with operational resilience and digital operational resilience obligations.
- Assist with annual IT budget preparation, ongoing monitoring, and procurement progress reporting.
- Support internal and external audit requests, licence reviews, IT controls, RCSA submissions, and IT risk metrics.
- Provide procurement expertise to project teams and participate in procurement progress, shortlisting, and tender award meetings.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in IT procurement, vendor management, or contract management within financial services.
- Good understanding of IT business procurement, tendering processes, supplier selection, and contract governance.
- Experience leading procurement and tender processes within a matrix environment.
- Knowledge of procurement best practice, commercial agreements, contract risk, and framework agreements.
- Ability to develop strong commercial relationships that support delivery, value for money, and supplier performance.
- Strong reporting skills with the ability to provide accurate and timely management information.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of personal motivation, energy, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Desirable:
- Level 8 degree in business or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Formal training or certification in procurement practice or procurement law.
- Experience supporting outsourcing management, audit activity, or operational resilience requirements.
