Description:

Finance Business Partner – Permanent
Location: Dublin 4, Dublin
Type: Full-time | Permanent

Abrivia Recruitment is partnering with an organisation in the events and venue management sector to recruit a Finance Business Partner. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused finance professional to join a well-established organisation in a broad and highly visible role.

The successful candidate will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will take ownership of financial planning, business partnering, budgeting and performance analysis across the organisation. The role involves a mix of hands-on finance work and strategic input, with a strong emphasis on supporting operational leaders and improving commercial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key finance contact for operational leaders, departmental stakeholders and budget holders.

  • Build strong relationships with non-finance managers and develop a detailed understanding of departmental activities, commercial drivers and financial priorities.

  • Coordinate the preparation of annual departmental budgets and support stakeholders in developing realistic financial plans.

  • Prepare regular forecasts and update projections based on performance, operational activity and known business developments.

  • Analyse actual results against budget, forecast and prior-year performance.

  • Investigate income, expenditure and operational variances and provide clear commentary on key movements.

  • Translate detailed financial information into practical insight for non-finance audiences.

  • Prepare management information and performance reporting to support commercial and operational decisions.

  • Provide financial analysis for business cases, projects, events, contracts and expenditure proposals.

  • Prepare scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis where required.

  • Monitor operating and capital expenditure against approved budgets and financial commitments.

  • Identify financial risks, cost pressures, efficiencies and commercial opportunities.

  • Support the development of dashboards, reporting tools and improved management information.

  • Contribute to the effective use of AccountsIQ and improvements to financial reporting structures and processes.

  • Support the CFO with ad hoc analysis, presentations, finance transformation and process-improvement initiatives.

  • Promote effective financial controls, accountability and compliance with internal finance policies.

Requirements:

  • Approximately three to five years of relevant experience in commercial finance, financial planning, management accounting or finance business partnering.

  • Practical experience in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.

  • Experience working directly with budget holders and non-finance stakeholders.

  • Strong financial analysis and management reporting capabilities.

  • Ability to interpret financial information and communicate it clearly to non-finance audiences.

  • Strong commercial judgement and an understanding of how operational decisions affect financial performance.

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using accounting or financial management systems.

  • Excellent communication, relationship-management and influencing skills.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and work independently.

  • Candidates may be fully qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience.

Desirable:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA qualification, or progress towards a relevant professional qualification.

  • Previous experience using AccountsIQ or a comparable financial management system.

  • Experience supporting capital expenditure, business cases or financial modelling.

  • Experience contributing to finance transformation, reporting improvement or process automation.

Benefits:

  • Salary of approximately €70,000 to €75,000, depending on experience.

  • Permanent, full-time position.

  • Broad exposure to operational and commercial decision-making.

  • Direct engagement with senior leadership and departmental stakeholders.

  • Opportunity to develop within a visible and commercially focused finance role.

  • Scope to contribute to finance transformation and reporting improvements.
