Financial Accountant
Location: Dublin City Centre (Hybrid)
Salary: Competitive base salary plus bonus, pension, healthcare etc.
A well-established global reinsurer is looking for a qualified accountant to join its finance team on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity to play a central role in group and local statutory and regulatory reporting, working closely with the Financial Controller to deliver quarterly financial and regulatory reporting in line with IFRS requirements. You’ll collaborate widely across the finance function and with senior leadership, in a collaborative, non-hierarchical culture that values long-term development and career progression.
Your Role
- Coordinate the annual statutory financial statements on an IFRS basis
- Support the preparation of the company’s tax returns
- Manage the quarterly financial statements and internal management review process
- Coordinate quarterly regulatory returns
- Support liquidity and cash management, including banking administration
- Identify and drive improvements to processes and procedures within the role
- Contribute to broader efficiency initiatives across the finance function
- Take on other ad hoc responsibilities as priorities and business needs arise
Your Skills & Experience
- Qualified accountant with experience in a professional services firm, or similar regulatory/financial reporting environment
- Insurance experience an advantage
- Experience with SAP reporting tools an advantage
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication and report writing skills
- Strong organisational skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines
- Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple priorities
- Resourceful, confident to question and influence change where appropriate
- Strong Excel skills and broader MS Office proficiency
- Comfortable working independently and building relationships across a business
